The International Master in Agribusiness is the best option to combine work life with professional growth through training. We understand it as a process of transformation in which our students from companies of the agri-food chain, from different Spanish provinces and with a specific professional career, arrive to grow professionally, become a reference within their departments and be the engine of change of the agribusiness sector at international level.

Completing the MIA is more than a graduate degree in agriculture or a master’s degree in agribusiness. It provides the student with the international vision of the agricultural sector, with theoretical-practical methodology, allowing knowing and giving solutions to the global challenges that the sector will face in the coming years.

The MIA is a program based on excellence and focused on professionals who are currently working in the agricultural sector, auxiliary industry, agricultural technology companies, agro start-up or who want to boost their career.

Staff

The staff responsible for teaching each subject is made up of professors, nationally and internationally renowned professionals from different operational fields. For this reason, they are able to provide a great diversity of knowledge and experiences.

The teaching approach aims at the acquisition of knowledge, and therefore, the transfer of truly useful skills for the professional development of students.

The protagonist

The Master Internacional en Agronegocios has been created for students who want to have a global vision of the business world in the agricultural sector. Our students have at least 3 years of professional experience. They may be working in the agricultural sector or want to specialize in a sector as exciting as that of agribusiness.

Our students can be agricultural engineers, graduates in Business Administration and Management, in Marketing, in Law, in Veterinary, or in any other discipline, who want to specialize in the agribusiness sector. They have in common their nonconformist nature; they want to leave their comfort zone; they want to keep up with business management; they are visionaries; they know the scope that new technologies can have for efficient decision-making, and they have or want to develop distinguishing skills enhancing their talent.

Our students will be international leaders, professionals or entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector, and from the beginning, they will work in diverse teams resulting in the acquisition of divergent, critical and rational thinking that will grow and enrich their professional and personal values.

This master has been designed for professionals who work or want to work in companies involved in the entire agricultural supply chain.

Program Structure

 

1. MANAGEMENT AND STRATEGY IN AGRICULTURAL COMPANIES I

The main objective of this unit is that students understand the importance of having a defined strategy for companies, and the relationship between the strategy with the general management of the company and with the operational management or functional areas.

To this effect, strategic planning tools will be studied in order that the student will be able to choose the most appropriate tool for each case, environment and business situation.

2. MANAGEMENT AND STRATEGY IN AGRICULTURAL COMPANIES II

This second unit focuses on sustainability as an essential part of the strategy of companies in the agricultural sector, in international business and introduces the student to new technologies for decision making.

3. ACCOUNTING IN THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR

The objective is to help the student understand the economic situation of the company and be able to interpret information provided by the accounting system when deciding.

4. CORPORATE FINANCE

With this course, students will be given the ability to perform economic and financial evaluations of investment projects. In addition, they will know the concepts derived from green finance and the importance of the use of new financial technologies for their own implementation.

5. MARKETING AND SALES IN THE AGRICULTURE SECTOR

This module will enable the student to design marketing strategies based on the strategic analysis of the company. The student will know how marketing and the sales department should be integrated in order to design strategies and promote efficient management of customers.

6. OPERATIONS IN AGRICULTURAL COMPANIES

This module seeks to provide the student with a strategic vision of the business operations. It presents concepts, experiences, methodologies and tools to develop skills and abilities necessary to manage operations and logistics efficiently.

7. MODELS AND CONFIGURATION OF THE SUPPLY CHAINS IN THE DIFFERENT AGRICULTURAL SECTORS

With this unit, students will obtain a global vision of the management of the supply chains of the main cultivation models at an international level.

8. CHALLENGES AND GLOBAL SOLUTIONS IN THE WORLD AGRICULTURAL SECTOR

The objective of this unit is to provide tools to make professionals in the agricultural sector reach a local, national and global vision of the main problems/challenges that the sector will face in the coming years, and find strategies to solve them.

9. LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT SKILLS

With this unit, the student will develop transversal skills necessary for the management of any area or company.

10. INNOVATION, ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INTRA-EMPLOYMENT IN COMPANIES OF THE REGIONAL SECTOR

In this case, the objective is to provide students with the skills and competencies necessary to lead the change towards an innovative culture in organizations.

Throughout the course it will be analyzed how to generate innovative environments within organizations and the creation of new technology companies. It will be also analyzed how innovation becomes not only an organizational transformation, but also the vision and the mission of the company. It implies a change in the way of doing things in a globalized world.

11. SMART AGRO

This subject will allow students to expand their skills and discover the potential of technology and new digital media applied to agriculture throughout the value chain.

12. TOOLS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROFESSIONAL CAREER

In this last part, the student will be provided with the skills and tools necessary for their job promotion.

Once you have completed the International Master in Agribusiness you will learn to:

  • Understand the characteristics of the international agricultural sector, the trends of consumers and the role played by farmers, businesses and all their representatives.
  • Recognize the relationship of agribusiness with other areas of economic and social interest, such as economic development or new forms of production and business diversification.
  • Identify and manage the characteristics of the main companies in the agricultural supply chain and develop efficient management strategies.
  • Develop a comprehensive business plan for agricultural companies, both existing and newly created.
  • Use the most advanced marketing strategies and tactics to develop products, companies and organizations.
  • Manage financial dimensions related to agricultural activities.
  • Understand and use project management techniques for agricultural businesses.
  • Understand the different types of agricultural supply chains.
  • Be aware of the need to use new technologies within farms and businesses and the most advanced tools and production channels.
  • Know international organizations operating in the agribusiness sector, international policies and the support linked to this economic sector.
  • Learn global success stories in the agribusiness sector.

The price of the MIA is € 12,900

Attendance Confirmation: € 500 (Will be deducted from the final price of the master)

Deadline May 31: 10% Grant – € 11,500

Deadline June 28: 7% Grant – € 12,000

Deadline August 2: 5% Grant – € 12,250
